This is a spillway drop in Cedar Creek... the drop shown at left is approximately a 9 foot drop.  This drop look natural but it is actually a spillway dam that has been built in Cedar Creek.

Cedarburg Wollen Mill Spillway:  View Video
Latitude: 43.30156   Longitude: -87.98843
This 14 foot drop spillway is just upstream from Cedarburg Ledge.  Go north 4 blocks on Washington Ave and turn right on Bridge Street, cross the bridge, turn left on Riveredge Drive and park on the street... the spillway is just north of the bridge.  Locally this is called "Cedarburg Falls" but it is manmade, so we call it a spillway.

Grafton Spillway is on the east side of downtown Grafton in the Milwaukee River.  Washington Street is the main east-west street thru Grafton... one block south is Bridge Street, another bridge across the Milwaukee River in Grafton.  The spillway is just north of the Bridge Street crossing.

Thiensville Spillway:  View Video

Main Street runs north-south thru Thiensville... go south from downtown 0.4 miles and turn left on Green Bay Road, in one block turn right on Elm Street, in 0.18 miles there is a parking lot on the right which is adjacent to the spillway in the Milwaukee River.

A small rapids in the southern part of Waubeka.  The rapids is just north of County Road A and west of the Cigrand Drive bridge over the Milwaukee River.

Links & Helpful Hints...
Before you visit a waterfall it is helpful to know the surrounding landscape... we use two free internet services to help.  www.topoquest.com provides free topo maps which can be enlarged and printed.  Access Topoquest and then click "find maps" on their website, put in GPS from our data (without the minus sign), click "search", then click on the first USGS map that has a DRG name, click on the map itself and select zoom level.  To navigate the area... if you want to look at an area left of the map, click on the left edge of the map, etc.  Below each map will be a listing of features shown on the map... a little work and you will learn their system (sometime clicking on the edge will not take you to an adjacent map).

We also use Google Earth.  It is a free service you can download at https://www.google.com/earth/.  Like Topoquest, you put in GPS data (or city, or county and state) and it will "fly" you to the location requested.

There are lots of internet sites that list facts about Wisconsin... one of the best is the Wisconsin DNR site http://dnr.wi.gov/ which has all kinds of info.  Another good site is www.discoverwisconsin.com.
